Blast from the Past – 1958/59

First year in the Southern Amateur League

In the 1958/59 season Southgate Olympic played their first season in the Southern Amateur league, moving to that league from the Southern Olympian League. They finished two points behind old rivals Broomfield in the Senior Division 3, to become runners-up.

The reserves went one better winning the Reserve Division 3, two points above Lloyds Bank Reserves. Success too for the third team who won the 3rd Teams Division 3, scoring 90 goals in 20 games to finish above Alexandra Park 3rd team.
