Southgate Olympic Golf Society or SOGS was formed in 1968 by Stu Hyde, Chick Larson and Alan McGurdy.
The first meeting was held at Muswell Hill golf club.
SOGS is open to all past and present players/members and their guests.
The golfing day has changed over the years and now comprises of single round of golf, followed by a evening sit down meal, presentation of a trophy and prizes for members and guest with the best stapleford score together with a nearest the pin prize.
This year we changed from having two meetings a year to a single meeting in May, the reason being that numbers were falling away as regular members were unable to attend for various age related reasons.
The Society is organised and run by John Clarke and assisted by Bob Van Hamme and Dave Bennett.
